Due to the success of the village Christmas event - Santa parade and carol singing in the Napier Hall, AOK are planning the next one for Wednesday 19 December. We will start the parade from the scout hall and walk through the village to Napier hall where all kinds of entertainment will be prepared for children, families and all residents and visitors of the village - music, including community carol singing, refreshments and great festive atmosphere!

Please join us in the parade from 6pm at the Scout hall or from 6:30 in Napier Hall.

A very successful consultation event was held on 6 May in the field behind Gavinburn school in Old Kilpatrick. AOK and the Forestry Commission Scotland invited residents of Old Kilpatrick to suggest ideas for the field that had been given to the community by the Forestry Commission. Over 100 people attended on the day and enjoyed wood craft, willow weaving, story telling and talking to us about what we could do with the field.

One of the most popular ideas was to make raised beds or small growing areas for the community to use. An orchard, wildflower meadow and willow weaving area were also very popular.

A working group will now be formed to go over all ideas suggested and come up with a plan for the project. A meeting will be set up for all interested residents where the ideas will be discussed. We want to involve as many residents as possible so if you'd like to help, please get in touch. We will be publishing the details of the first working group meeting soon.

The AOK History and Heritage group are looking for volunteers to be interviewed about the life in Old Kilpatrick in the past as a part of their oral history project A Walk Through the Past: Memories of Old Kilpatrick.

Anyone who has lived or worked in the village from 1940s up until the present day can take part. A volunteer interviewer will record your stories and memories which will be used to inform a booklet, website and two audio walks around the village.
